VIDEO: Bryz tests his broken foot in practice

Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov returned to practice on Friday after suffering a chip fracture in his right foot during Tuesday’s game. Bryzgalov is questionable for this weekend’s game against Ottawa at home on Saturday and at Pittsburgh on Sunday.

Flyers wives help out child in need

Kristen Laviolette Flyers wives do a lot of charity work in the area, and they’re at it again. Their latest project, “Building Hope For Kids”, will present a renovated bedroom today for Kahlil Lyles, a 7-year-old Philadelphia boy who is in remission with leukemia. “The family we’re helping, they’re wonderful and we’re so happy because it’s beyond the bedroom for this project,” said Kristen Laviolette, wife of Flyers coach Peter Laviolette

Ovechkin hits Philly surging

Alex Ovechkin arrived to Philly finally on a hot streak. It’s been a long time coming for the Washington Capitals superstar, who entered a game Thursday night against the Flyers with four goals in his last four games. It’s been a tough couple of seasons for Ovechkin, who averaged 53.8 goals over his first five NHL seasons but slipped to a career-low 32 last season and 32 so far this season. “My jobs is to goals,” Ovechkin said.
