Pat Hickey, the venerable hockey reporter from the Montreal Gazette who had his car vandalized at the Wachova Center during Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, said Thursday he found the culprit on Facebook. According to Hickey, the vandal proudly but foolishly posted a photo of Hickey’s license plates on his Facebook account and that posting eventually made its way to Hickey. Hickey did not release the identity of the alleged culprit but threatened to press charges against the person unless the perpetrator made a public apology, and donated $1,000 to a Philadelphia charity. “That’s all I want out of it,” Hickey said. Hickey said he has notified the Flyers of his findings and that they are considering how to move forward. On Sunday night, Hickey’s 1999 Honda Accord had its tire slashed, it’s Quebec license plates torn off and it’s bug deflector damaged in the Wachovia Center parking lot while Hickey was working inside the building.
