Flyers 5-3 over Bruins

The Flyers beat the Bruins in Boston 5-3.
Forsberg scored two goals, Gagne, Desjardins and Handzus (empty net) each had one.
Forsberg left after the third period with a groin strain. Hitchcock says he sat Forsberg for precautionary reasons and he should be able to play tomorrow.
Kapanen played his first game this year logging over 16 minutes of ice time. Brashear took a shot from Richards near his eye and required several stitches.
Although the Flyers did not play like a Stanley Cup contending team, they did win and also improved in a couple areas they have been struggling in. The Flyers won 57% of face offs. The larger problem has been the penalty kill. The Flyers killed off all four Boston powerplays. Two games in a row without giving up a powerplay goal.
Gagne, Forsberg, Nickulas were the three stars.
Nittymaki got the start in goal which means Esche should play tomorrow.
Richards who was expected to sit out with a bruised wrist, played. Sharp was a healthy scratch.

Flyers play the Islanders Saturday afternoon in Philly at 2.
