The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have signed 6’2″, 201-pound defenseman Randy Jones to a two-year contract extension, according to club Assistant General Manager Paul Holmgren. Per club policy, financial terms were not disclosed.
“Randy, like Freddy (Meyer), is in his third year and we feel like he has developed nicely and is very deserving of this new contract extension,” said Holmgren in making the announcement. “He has worked hard and is a solid two-way defenseman. We look forward to having him in our fold over the next few years.”
While he is not a star defenseman, he has played well in place of the many injured Flyers.
