Flyers pick up Andrew Alberts

With Jones, Parent and Hatcher out with injury the Flyers pick up defenceman Andrew Alberts from the Boston Bruins trading Ned Lukacevic and a conditional pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft to Boston. Lukacevic came to the Flyers from the Kings sending Gauthier to the Kings this past July.

General Manager Paul Holmgren “Andrew is a big, competitive defenseman and he skates well. He will bring experience and depth to our team.”

His stats show he isn’t an offensive defenseman and the salary cap hit is about $1.2million for this season. He is an unrestricted free agent after next season.

I wonder if this means anything for Lasse Kukkonen. Only had 8 minutes of icetime the first game.
