DEVILS 3, FLYERS 2 (SO): Early penalties by the Flyers – two of them by veteran defenseman Kimmo Timonen – set the tone as the Devils grabbed a 2-0 lead. But the Philly Sky Line of Jeff Carter, Joffrey Lupul and Scott Hartnell – all three live in Philadelphia’s Olde City section – produced a goal in the second period and another late in the third to earn a point. Flyers coach John Stevens went with a shootout lineup of: Simon Gagne (5-hole save); Mike Richards (glove side goal); Jeff Carter (left shoulder save); Kimmo Timonen (glove save) and Joffrey Lupul (left pad save). Flyers goaltender Antero Niittymaki allowed goals to Jamie Langenbrunner and Travis Zajac in the shootout to fall to 1-1 in shootouts this season.
