MONTREAL – From the time he was 2 years old, Flyers star Jeff Carter was being schooled to be a skater in the NHL. His grandfather, Lyle, remembers him doing crossover drills – in skates, cutting more than a few grooves in his living room carpet in London, Ontario. By the time he was 7, Carter and the rest of his teammates were doing crossover drills that raised the eyebrows of more than a few parents.
