Flyers invite troubled Mark Bell to camp

The Flyers have signed veteran left wing Mark Bell to a tryout contract, the Courier-Post has learned. Bell, 29, scored a career-high 25 goals with the Blackhawks in 2005-06 but has struggled to get his career untracked after pleading no contest to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident three years ago that required him to work in a California prison for 11 weeks. The eighth pick overall in the 1998 NHL draft, Bell spent all of last season in the AHL, netting 18 goals in 74 games for the Toronto Marlies and Hartford Wolf Pack. He is expected to take part in fitness testing on Saturday and hit the ice Sunday when the Flyers open training camp for veterans.
