Versus announcer Joe Beninati had been saying “Danny Briere carrying the puck up the ice on his birthday” all game long – and here I thought he was just expressing his opinion that the Caps were giving him too much room. Briere, after a game full of hard work below the goal line, got a pretty nice 32nd birthday present with 1:08 left in overtime of a crazy and exciting game last night.
