The Local Boys: Colby Cohen

What would you think if I told you there’s a local hockey prospect, who’s already been drafted, who has a cousin that played for the Eagles. You’d think “no fuckin’ way!” Well I’m here to tell you “fuckin’ way!” Let’s skip to the end first on this one. Villanova, PA’s own Colby Cohen, who indeed happens to be cousin to former Eagle Jeremy Bloom, is currently a Junior at Boston University who was drafted 45th overall by the Avalanche in the 2007. How he came to be a key component of an NCAA championship as a sophomore is a great example of the extreme lengths a local teenager will take to make it to the NHL. Colby Cohen grew up playing his youth hockey in the Junior Flyers organization
