For the first time in the Peter Laviolette era the Flyers beat a quality opponent and outplayed and out skated them for the duration of the contest. The Flyers have been in a free fall for the past month. Learning a new system, trade rumors, injuries, and own self-doubt, this 3-1 victory over their Winter Classic opponents became a real confidence builder. The Flyers came from behind being down 1-0 after the second period scoring three unanswered goals in the third.
