Flyers Gameday: Two in a row?

Tonight the Flyers play host to the Ottawa Senators.  In what seems like forever ago, the Flyers easily took care of the Sens, blasting them in a 5-1 rout the first time the two teams met this season.  Seriously, that feels like it happened in 1998. That was when John Stevens was still Papa, when Razor was a stud, and when goals were being given out like candy out of my van.  After Monday’s win against the Islanders and some hard practices the Flyers will try to make it two in a row under Lavvy.  They have an opponent tonight that gives them fits, but ultimately will reveal itself for what it truly is, a doormat. I mean sure, the Sens are ahead of us in the standings, but they have been sputtering just as much as Philly.  They are starting to get more scoring out of Jason Spezza and Alex Kovalev but nothing to write home about.  They have some talented forwards, but nobody who wants to play dirty.  The Sens could benefit from a Scott Hartnell/Mike Knuble type player, seeing how most of their offense comes from wristers and point shots (sound familiar as of late?).  They need someone to crash the net hard.  The Sens will try to fill the role their managment is worried about starting tonight.  Could be a nice night for Pronger and Coburn to really clear the road in front of Boosh.  Starting goalie Pascal Leclaire is out for a bit so look for Brian Elliot to get the nod.  Somehow ‘Boucher vs. Elliot’ doesn’t really sound like a goaltenders battle….probably good for two teams struggling for goals. For our enemies take, check out our buddies over at The 6th Sens for all the Ottawa Senatoring you can handle.  After such a horrid end to November there are still a lot of questions surrounding the Flyers. Will the offense keep getting better?
