The Flyers are coming off another ugly loss — their second straight shutout defeat — and while the alarm bells ringing are in the distance, they’ll increase exponentially if the Flyers lose Saturday night at home against the Washington Capitals. Following their closed door meeting, Chris Pronger stood in the middle of the room and yelled, “I’m first” to the media that entered the roomm. It was the true sign of a veteran leader and so were the comments he made: “It’s not that early anymore,†Pronger said in his strongest post-game soliloquy of the season. “We’re almost a third of the way through the season. It’s going to creep up on us. Looking at the standings and where we’re sitting, we could be on the outside looking in. A lot of teams are fighting for the eighth, seventh and sixth playoff spots.
