PENGUINS 6, FLYERS 1 Seems every time the Flyers visit the Penguins they are handed a crushing loss. Maybe it’s because Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Jordan Staal love to feast on them. Or maybe it’s because the gap between the two teams is getting bigger every year. Whatever the reason, the Penguins stood up to the Flyers physically and overwhelmed them with talent. The Flyers stayed close for half a period, closing within 2-1 on a power-play goal by Dan Carcillo, but allowed a shorthanded goal by Staal and another by Malkin to fall 16 points behind the Pens in the Atlantic Division standings. Crosby was again too much to handle for the Flyers with a goal and two assists. He now has 28 goals and 49 points in 28 career regular season games against the Flyers. The Flyers will try to slow the Penguins again on Thursday night in Philadelphia.
