Unless Paul Holmgren is performing what people from the Wild, Wild West would call a “bluff” it doesn’t look like the Flyers are going to be in the Ilya Kovalchuk sweepstakes. But I’ve got Russians on the brain for some reason. This morning I was asked to change one of my 500 passwords at work and I left the bulk of it the same, only changing the number on the back end by one from 22 to 23. And I immediately tried to stamp the change on my brain so I wouldn’t forget by picturing a Flyer who wore 23. And of all people – Petr Svoboda, Ossi Vaananen, Denis Gauthier, and even Ilkka Sinasalo – I pictured Andrei Lomakin.
