Flyers Gameday: Dallas Revenge!

Unreal Logo.  Almost as good as the Whale. …anyways, tonight, the Flyers take on the Stars down at the Wach.  Both of these teams are on the outside looking in.  For Philly, the road appears to be a bit easier to jump into the top 8.  For Dallas, their in the tougher division and winless in 7 straight away games.  Both teams are desperate for points and should prove to be a thrilling contest in Souf Philly. Philly is starting to thrive under Lavvy’s system.  The four offensive lines are producing balanced scoring, the defense has come out of its funk and block tons of shots and the special teams are clicking.  7-1-1 feels great after what December did to us.  JVR has looked great in the last 4 games.  We beat the Pens.  Hartnell finially scored again.  Pronger/Carle are putting up points.  Goalie is playing well.  It feels like October again people.  But how long does the good vibes last?  Much like college kids this time of the year, I think we got at least another week of sexy before facing any sort of reality that next Monday might bring.  We gotta ride this wave for as long as we can.  Confidence is high, as it should be.  Tonight we play an unfamiliar opponent who is struggling to get points on the road.  Flyers are only 2-5-1 against the West this year.  I think the Flyers win again tonight. If Claude Giroux scores again, I’m buying you all a Chik-Fil-A chicken sandwich.  Count it. Stars are packed with players to know, along with players to laugh at. Future Hall of Famer Mike Modano is the franchise player, and looks to be in his last season.  Total class act and will be nice to see him one last time in Philly.  Brendan Morrow looks to be back in form, and good for him.  Knee surgery is a bitch.  Morrow reminds me of a Jamie Langenbrunner type of guy.  Jamie Benn is a rookie to watch, and he’ll be one to keep an eye out for tonight.  Another young gun James Neal, who would look spectacular in a Flyers sweater, is having a stellar year.  Our Western Conference scout Mark calls this kid a “pocket Rich Nash”.  34 points in 41 games?  18 goals already?  Sheesh.  2nd year and the kid already looks legit.  Couple him with Brad Richards and you got an excellent passer and a young, fast sniper.  Richards by the way, already has 39 apples on the year.  So why are the stars in 10th place?  Well they play in the West for one, their defense is way past its glory days of Zubov, Hatcher and Matvichuck and they start Marty Turco between the pipes.  Turco is a puzzle wrapped inside of a question wrapped inside of an enigma.  He makes this ridiculous saves but then lets in some questionable goals that immediately seem to get him out of the game.  Its not so much tossing pucks at him, just being opportunistic (read: greasy)  Thats the Flyers game and we might be able to chase another goalie tonight.  Dallas has been hovering around .500 for a while now, treading water.  A dominant Flyers performance could send the Stars under faster than Jack when he froze to death because that greedy whore Rose hung out on to that door and didn’t scoot the fuck over when she totally could have.  Sorry, I still have issues about Titanic. It’s hard to hate the Stars.  I mean, I hate Mike Ribeiro because he seems like the third part on the triple headed NHL-douche-fauxhawk-monster consisting of Dion Phanueff-Mike Green-Ribeiro. He’s also not in because of a nasty stick to the throat, so even though it would be nice to see him suck on a Chico left hook, better that he just gets healthy.  They tried Sean Avery, then ditched him like the punk he is.  I commend Dallas for that.  They have a good fan base and history.  Slipping a bit since Modano/Turco starting fading away, but are one or two moves from being right back into the Western Conference battle.  Enjoy tonight for what it is, a game between guys you never get to see against a surging Flyers team.  If Steve Ott wants to dance, we have abut 4 partners for the disco.  This is also payback to the city that crushed our football dreams and gave birth to George W.  Dallas, me and you don’t get along, and if you don’t leave soon, I’m gonna have to get real serious….  Red-dwarf the Stars!  (If that makes any sort of sense) Let’s Go Flyers
