Inside Flyers’ 4-1 win over Tampa

The Flyers provided a short-term solution to their crowded goalie crease Saturday by loaning Ray Emery to the AHL Adirondack Phantoms. Emery, sidelined since early December with an abdominal tear, played for the Phnatoms Saturday night against the Portland Pirates at the Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, N.Y. He allowed two goals on 14 shots in a 2-1 loss. “It’s good for Ray,” Flyers coach Peter Laviolette said before the Flyers’ home game against the Lightning. “He gets to get 60 minutes of work, and it’s a little bit less pressure than he might get here. “When you’re coming off an injury like that, it’s probably best to get some work in. We haven’t had a whole lot of practice time.” According to Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren, Emery was scheduled to return to South Jersey Saturday night and was expected to be at the Flyers’ Wives Fight For Lives Carnival Sunday at the Wachovia Center. Emery, 27, has missed 17 straight games since undergoing surgery on Dec.
