The Flyers lost another opportunity to separate themselves from the pack. Instead of being three points ahead of the Thrashers (a team they are fighting for playoff positioning) they are not a a point behind. The Thrashers were a team that was working hard and still trailing at the end of the second period. The game changer came 30 seconds into the third when Kovalchuk scored off of the faceoff with a rush across the goal mouth. After that the Flyers were clearly sitting on their heels for the rest of the game.
