Star Struck: Flyers Romp Dallas 6-3

PHILADELPHIA- Not only did the Philadelphia Flyers win their fourth consecutive game with 6-3 win last night over the Dallas Stars at the Wachovia Center, but the fans of Philadelphia can rest easier now that one team in the city can beat Dallas. With last night’s win the Flyers have claimed the seventh spot in the Eastern Conference with 49 points and only trail the fifth seed Boston Bruins by two points. The Flyers got key contributions from guys who don’t normally show up on a score sheet, but their roles have been a key component of why their 8-1-1 in their last 10 games. Both Ian Laperriere and Darroll Powe each had a goal and an assist. However, for Laperriere, the popular claimed ‘Gordie Howe hat-trick’ was accomplished. Lappy, as he’s called, also fought Mark Fistric to complete the trick. Simon Gagne also continued his hot streak adding a two points (1G, 1A). Gagne has 10 points in his last seven games.
