Tonight the streaky Flyers being a home and home with the New Jersey Devils. If you count the two games between the division leading Devils, and the two games between the Canadiens (who are 3 points ahead of us in the East), this last week before the Olympics is quite possible the most important 4 game stretch of the season. After finishing off what looked to be a “lay-up” road trip with two embarrassing loses, the Flyers return home to host Ilya Kovulchuk and the Devils on a nationally televised game. (With Keith Jones doing play-by play) The Battle for the Turnpike always brings out the best in these two clubs. Sure, the Devils-Rangers and Flyers-Penguins get top “rival” billing, but no other team in the East the type of history that the Flyers and Devils do.
