I found it a bit strange that last night when Mike Richards would get the puck I was kind of hoping he’d do something good. Not too good, but I wanted him to dazzle the Canadians a bit. As in “Yeah we lost, but that Mike Richards is incredible.” Strangely enough I didn’t feel anything like that when Chris Pronger had the puck. I wanted that lightning bolt to cough it up or get beat wide by Patrick Kane. I think that’s mainly because Pronger has won the Cup, a Gold Medal, and is nearing the end of what will probably be a Hall of Fame career. Where as Richards, I feel, still has a number of sceptics and needs to prove himself both as a consistent talent in the NHL and a leader worthy of the C.
