Tonight has “Holy Crapballs” implications. The trauma unit known as the Philadelphia Flyers is set to take on the prickly Ottawa Senators in a battle for the East’s fifth seed. This game is the Assault in our American Gladiators season. It’s the biggest event so far and the one that has the most impact on our season to date (sadly, there are no nerf guns being used, or tennis ball bazookas on the benches). In a few short weeks we’ve lost Ray Emery, Michael Leighton, chances to make a trade and Jeff Carter. We’ve played some very uninspiring hockey at the time when most clubs are gearing up for the playoffs
