The Flyers announced today they have signed forwards Eric Wellwood and Luke Pither of the Ontario Hockey League and Shane Harper of the Western Hockey League to contracts that will begin at the start of the 2010-11 season. Wellwood, 19, has 31 goals and 34 assists for 65 points and 36 penalty minutes to go along with a plus/minus rating of +34 in 61 games with the Windsor Spitfires. Last season, Wellwood recorded 34 points (16G,18A) in 61 regular season games. He also posted 10 goals and 11 assists for 21 points in 20 games to help lead the Spitfires to the OHL Championship, as well as four points (1G,3A) in six games to help Windsor win the 2009 Mastercard Memorial Cup. In his fourth season with Windsor, Wellwood has recorded 122 points (58G,64A) and 60 penalty minutes in 213 regular season games.
