Inside Flyers’ lopsided loss to Panthers

PANTHERS 7, FLYERS 4 One night after hammering seven goals against the Lightning in Tampa, the Flyers allowed seven in a thumping in Sunrise, Fla. It was the first time the Flyers were beaten this badly since a 7-4 loss in Ottawa on Jan. 3. Goaltender Michael Leighton, handed the keys to the goal crease after a season-ending injury to Ray Emery, had his worst outing with the Flyers, allowing four goals on 26 shots before getting yanked for Brian Boucher, who allowed two goals on the first three shots he faced. Danny Briere, Jeff Carter, Ville Leino and Ryan Parent scored for the Flyers, who will try to turn the page Friday night when they visit the Buffalo Sabres.
