Mike Richards is my favorite Flyer. I haven’t even thought of that concept for the longest time – my favorite player. When I was younger it was #27 Jeremy Roenick on the Hawks and then, please forgive me, the big American winger on the Penguins, Kevin Stevens. As I matured ever so slowly my admiration for the hard worker, lunch pail and helmet type of player superseded any requirement of real scoring and I took number 29 for Joel Otto. So like it is for any fan out there, Mike Richards being my favorite Flyers is the highest compliment I can pay to a him. But he’s not where I need him to be at this point in his career
