Welp, it all comes down to this Flyers fans. For those of you who’ve been with us all season, I imagine your blood pressure is just as high as mine. For the most inconsistent team in the history of the Flyers, an 82 game season comes down to the one last game. A team supposed to play for Lord Stanley, now is fighting for the last playoff spot in the NHL. The close games, the blowouts, the coaching change, the goalies, the suspensions; are all a frustrating memory, for what matters now is sixty minutes. Thats all we have Flyers fans. We have the Flyers and Rangers battling for their lives. Each puck battle, each shot, each shift, everything matters. A simple stick penalty could change the future of either team. In a cruel twist of fate, the Canadiens lost to the Leafs last night, which opens the door for the Flyers, IF they are to win, to play the Devils or Sabres, a much more favorable matchup opposed to the Capitals or Pens. I’m not saying the Flyers can beat either of those teams in a 7 game series, but they certainly have a much bigger chance of playing the spoiler. None of that matters however, if they can’t get over the Rangers today at the Wachovia Center. Its right here, plain and simple. A win and you’re in. You play this game for moments like this. Growing up on those Canadian farms, playing squirts all the way through Juniors to getting to the show. Its games like this that create memories that last a lifetime. Its a full on, no holds barred sprint to the finish. 81 games haven’t given me any sort of idea of whats going to play out today, but I’ll be there, cheering the shit out of my team. Does this team want to play hockey, or golf? Home barn. Kate Smith. Go get it boys. Let’s Go Flyers.
