2 years ago, back when Fran and I lived in a Dude Den, a roommate finally asked why Fran and I kept coming back to the apartment every other night at 10:30, smelling like 2-for-1 Brooklyn Lager. When we told him we had been watching the Flyers make an improbable playoff run for almost a month he wanted in. We had always just figured anyone who wasn’t interested in hockey by there 20’s wasn’t going to be, but were excited to possibly convert a new fan – the same excitement I assume Christian Missionaries felt when they would conquer a new village and kill all the men. So during game 5 of the Canadiens series, a game that ended with a Mike Knuble empty netter and a hand shake, we tried to impart the basics on this new Flyers fan. Our goalie was pretty good. Number 20 is playing out of his mind. The buffalo wings here are decent.
