Depending on the outcome of tomorrow’s Windsor Spitfires – Kitchener Rangers Conference Final Game 7, two Flyers prospects could be facing off in the Ontario Hockey League Finals for the first time since 1877 (I don’t know since when, or if ever, and don’t feel like looking into it to get four dumb numbers for this post. As a fan blogger I have neither the responsibility nor patience to report responsibly). Over in the Eastern Conference Luke Pither and his Barrie Colts have cruised into the Finals, dropping only a single game in 3 playoff series. Pither has 18 points in 13 games, good for a share of the lead among the Colts. The Flyers prospect in the West, Eric Wellwood of the Windsor Spitfires, has struggled during this post season when compared to the 21 points in 20 game run he had last year – which is what probably got him drafted. Wellwood averaged over a point a game during the regular season but only has 8 points through 14 playoff games. You can expect both of these guys to be on the Adirondack Phantoms next year. So it’s best you start paying attention sooner rather than later
