Flyers left wing Simon Gagne said today he’ll remain on crutches for 10 more days and could return to the lineup near the end of the second round or for the start of the third round of the playoffs. Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said Gagne will undergo an MRI on Friday and if he’s healing as expected, he could be skating as early as later the same day, which would make him available for Game 3 or 4 of the conference semifinals. For more, check out tomorrow’s Courier-Post. Meanwhile, Ian Laperriere skipped another practice with what Holmgren described as unclear vision. According to Holmgren Laperriere’s eye was hit by Paul Martin’s slapshot in the series-clinching Game 5 on Thursday night in Jersey and the winger is having some issues with his vision that the doctors feel will clear over time. Laperriere will be evaluated again tomorrow.
