Inside Flyers’ 4-3 loss to the Rangers

With 10 games remaining in the regular season, the sixth-seeded Flyers held a 10-point lead over the ninth-seeded New York Rangers. Now, with one crucial game remaining, the two teams are locked in a tie for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with 86 points. That sets up a winner-moves-on, loser-goes-home season finale between the two teams Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia. “This is pretty neat coming down to the wire like this, playing against one of our long-time rivals,” Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said. “It’s a pretty neat scenario. I’m sure the Rangers are thinking just like we are.” The difference is that the Rangers have gone 7-3-1 in their last 11 games while the Flyers have gone 3-7-1.
