Danny’s Diary: Mental preparation

Flyers center Danny Briere shares his thoughts on Wednesday’s Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals: Being at home makes it a little easier to stay on my routine. My parents are in town and they’re used to it. So usually in the afternoon when I try to relax and get ready for the game they always leave me alone for a few hours so I can relax and stay on my routine. We had a practice and meetings this morning and a few of us went to lunch together at Casa Bella in Haddonfield. I usually get to the rink about three hours before the game so I can go through all my stretches. I think about the game but I don’t feel all the hoopla of us playing for a Stanley Cup Final game. It’s when I’m driving to the game and I get closer to the rink that the emotions start coming to the surface a little more
