Meltzer's Musings: 9/27/10

I fully expect the Flyers to engage in the usual injury song and dance today when Paul Holmgren discussed the results of the MRI on Michael Leighton’s back. Anything short of an unexpected announcement that Leighton needs back surgery will be spun as a minor issue that the club is optimistic the goalie can work through and be fine. Maybe that really is the case.

  1. Bill Guerin is atrocious. He is done. I would take, literally, any young player over him right now. He played on a line with Sidney Crosby and sucked last year. If you suck while being fed by the best playmaker in the league you’re done.

Holmstrom is playing much better than Guerin is right now , who is struggling against AHL opposition. He also, in the games so far, seems to have a tendency to float out there. He is so slow he gets caught behind the play. in addition, he is, literally, a turnover machine. I counted two turnovers in a 15 second span the other night. He could lose us a game by himself.

Sorry, but to the question of whether or not Guerin should make the team I vote pass.
