The Flyers have placed right wing Nik Zherdev on waivers, allowing his agent Jay Grossman to strike a deal with another NHL team. “He asked us to look around for options,” Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said. “The request came to me to see if we could get him to another team. Nothing really came of that through a trade.” Zherdev, who signed a one-year, $2 million contract over the summer, has been a healthy scratch the past six games and has 15 goals this season
