Washington Capitals defenseman Dmitry Orlov has been suspended for two games, without pay, for boarding Philadelphia Flyers forward Brayden Schenn during NHL Game No. 912 in Washington on Sunday, March 2, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 9:33 of the third period. Orlov was assessed a major penalty for boarding.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and based on his average annual salary, Orlov will forfeit $7,076.92. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
