FLYERS WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP WRAPUP

The 2013-14 World Junior Championships wrapped up yesterday in Malmö, Sweden. Congratulations go out to the scrappy underdog Finnish team that got hot at just the right time to capture a surprise gold medal.

Over the course of the first six to eight weeks of the 2013-14 regular season, the Philadelphia Flyers were in deep trouble any time they trailed in a game. The team wasn’t scoring goals, so any deficit seemed like an insurmountable climb.

Meltzer’s Musings: Flyers Can’t Stop Avalanche

The Philadelphia Flyers saw their four-game winning streak come to an end on Thursday night, falling 2-1 to the Colorado Avalanche at the Pepsi Center. Winning goaltender Semyon Varlamov turned back 29 of 30 shots, while Steve Mason stopped 29 of 31.
