Pronger out, Bobrovsky in tonight vs Pens

Sergei Bobrovsky will become the youngest Flyers goaltender to start a season opener when the Flyers take the ice tonight at beautiful Consol Energy Center in downtown Pittsburgh. Brian Boucher said he was “a little shocked” and disappointed when coach Peter Laviolette told him the Russian rookie would be starting but said he’s faced many bigger challenges in his career and will be a good teammate. Laviolette said he liked Bobrovsky’s “body of work” in the preseason. In other roster news, Chris Pronger said the strength in his right knee is not enough to allow him to play in tonight’s opener and he is listing himself as day-to-day
