A Wow Victory In Calgary

When Alex Tanguay scored on that undeserved penalty shot, you had to think a great Flyer comeback was all wasted. All the hard work, the momentum and then poof! Gone. But as we’ve seen so many times this season, when the Flyers decide to get back into games, there is no lead they can’t overcome.

Looks Like Jagr Staying With Briere

So who needs more help right now up front: Danny Briere or Jaromir Jagr? My vote there is Briere, who has not scored a goal in 15 games – longest drought as a Flyer. I understand why Peter Laviolette moved Jagr off Claude Giroux’s unit to Briere’s line and swapped with Wayne Simmonds

Fist Pumping

I can’t remember the last time that I saw Flyers coach Peter Laviolette let loose with a fist pump, like he did on Tuesday night in Winnpeg. 9.7 seconds was all that separated the Flyers from falling to the 6th seed and the Jets from gaining the third 3rd seed in the Eastern Conference.

Lauren Pronger: "Very Frightening"

Lauren Pronger was on the verge of tears. More than once. Twice she told me today how “frightening” is it for her husband, Chris, in dealing with what he is going through with post-concussion syndrome.

Player Reaction; On Grossman

Major props to Peter Laviolette and the FLyers for adjusting on the fly all Thursday with two injuries within the game and one injury prior to the game, not to mention the surprise announcement that Andrej Meszaros was out with an upper body injury. Good to see the Flyers snap out of the scoring doldrums with 7 unanswered goals against the Sabres. I think this game did a lot for team morale a

What Happens Next for Flyers?

Redemption Weekend was supposed to be last weekend. “I like your thinking” Max Talbot told me last Friday before the Flyers got blown away again by the Rangers and then lost to Detroit in succession. My suggestion to Max was after the previous weekend debacle, the Flyers could get themselves righted with a couple of wins. Didn’t happen. There is no easy fix for the Flyers right now.

Lavy on the weekend

Another Lost Weekend where the Flyers drop two more games and now find themselves closer to slipping into the 6th spot than catching the Rangers as the No. 1` seed. Peter Laviolette had a conference call today with some of the reporters who cover the club. Here’s what he had to say, courtesy of the Flyers: Peter Laviolette – Monday Feb, 13 conference call Q: What do you think i

Timonen Rips Flyers after Loss to NYR

Flyers defenseman Kimmo Timonen didn’t hold back after Saturday’s 5-2 defrocking of the Flyers by the Rangers. That’s five, straight Rangers wins against the Flyers this season. He talked about the lack of effort and lack of compete.

Player Reaction from Win over Toronto

Can’t remember the last time I saw someone score a goal and drop the gloves as a form of celebration but that’s what Scott Hartnell did against Toronto on Thursday. Here’s player reaction from the Flyers 4-3 victory: Scott Hartnell Q: What happened at the end of the goal there, you ended up getting in a fight? We were battling I think for the first couple shifts and I kind of was going
