Can Flyers Get to the Trade Deadline Like This?

I am convinced Chris Pronger’s concussion symptoms are the direct result of his eye injury earlier this fall with latent post-concussion syndrome effects. It can happen. I feel it is prudent for the Flyers to proceed at this point as if Pronger were NOT coming back this season.

Lavy, Parent Defend Bryzgalov

Bernie Parent thinks that Peter Laviolette’s decision to play Ilya Bryzgalov over Sergei Bobrovsky against Pittsburgh is the right call. In a wide-ranging interview with reporters tonight, Parent defended Bryzgalov, while saying he still has to improve on his game.

Little Flyer History off Buffalo Win

Some FLyer history tonight with their 5-4 overtime win against Buffalo: When you add in last Frida’s 3-0 comeback at Anaheim (4-3 overtime win), this marks the second time in the past week that the Flyers have come back from a 3-0 deficit to win. Elias Sports Bureau said it is the third time in team history that the Flyers have accomplished that twice in a single season.

Kimmo Gets Lean and Mean

Unless a player has an on-going weight issue where he fluctuates, like Arron Asham did when he was with the Flyers, there is usually no need to drop weight. I noticed recently that Kimmo Timonen looked thinner in his face and thinner all-around. Turns out, he dropped weight and quite possibly, dropped some muscle to increase his cardio.

Making A Difference on the PP

Flyers Roster Moves, Injuries

Chris Pronger is missing tonight’s game against Carolina with a virus. Braydon Coburn has a mid-body injury and might be available for WED on Long Island against the Islanders. The Flyers called up Kevin Marshall and Marc-Andre Bourdon to replace them but had to move Harry Zolnierczyk to Trenton and place Erik Gustafsson (wrist) on LTIR to clear enough cap space.
