Post-Practice Updates: Michael Raffl Out 6 Weeks, VandeVelde to Top Line

The Philadelphia Flyers conducted a relatively short but high-tempo practice at the Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ, today in preparation to play the Florida Panthers tomorrow night at the Wells Fargo Center. The big news of the day was that the team learned they will be without first line left wing Michael Raffl for six weeks. Head coach Craig Berube will use Chris VandeVelde in Raffl’s place tomorrow

For the second straight autumn, the Flyers headed into a two-game Florida road trip playing winning hockey. For the second straight autumn, Philly exited the Sunshine State with a pair of regulation losses.

FLYERS HOLD OPTIONAL SKATE AHEAD OF TAMPA GAME

Heading into a Florida road trip that has often presented problems for the team over the years, the Philadelphia Flyers conducted an optional skate at the Skate Zone in Voorhees on Wednesday. The club then departed for a 2 p.m. charter flight to Tampa Bay.
