Shanny could arrive today – or not

If Brendan Shanahan is going to sign with the Flyers, Wednesday seems like a sensible time to do it. The Flyers are in the midst of a four-day break in the schedule and have the day off. They’ll be back on the ice Thursday to begin preparing for the Sabres, who are 3-5-1 since starting the season 6-0-2.

Gagne calls out Kovalev

Did you see the hit Simon Gagne took from Alex Kovalev Saturday night in Montreal? Gagne saw replays and believes the NHL should have taken action against Kovalev, who went unpenalized on the first-period hit. Gagne said after tonight’s game he believes Kovalev targeted his head and should have been penalized on the hit, which opened up cuts on his chin and cheek
