New Scoreboard at the Wach, Gagne Update

Gagne contract negotiations are still ungoing, and the 26 year old restricted free agent remains unsigned. While Bob Clarke said he is confident that the deal will get done, he hinted that the numbers are apart are not as small as he once let on, “I think with the numbers that are being talked about, any gap is big, because it’s big money we’re talking about.”

Fans at the Wachovia Center will get an extra special treat this coming season, as the Comcast Spectacor owned building will feature a new high tech scoreboard, details here.

  1. My prediction is that Primeau will skate, he will still have post concussion symptoms then he will announce his retirement.
With that money freed up the next day Gagne will sign for around 5.4 mill.

Primeau was set to make 3.23 mill the next 2 seasons.

  2. Yah, that makes sense, 3.23 mill + 2 mill = 5.23 mill … thus there’d be no salary cap difference once Simon is signed.

I think the real difference may be that Clarkey wants a long term deal at a set amount, as every year he resigns for 1 year and for a significantly more amount
