Peter Laviolette has a lot of good qualities as a coach. Patience is not one of them. Having grown tired of a lack of scoring punch from his top two lines, Laviolette shook up his lineup against the Islanders by giving Mike Richards and Jeff Carter new sets of wingers. Simon Gagne, who had one goal in 13 game before Saturday, is now playing on Richards’ left side, while right wing Scott Hartnell, who had two goals in his previous 25 games, is now Richards’ right wing. “Actually, I don’t mind,” said Hartnell, who scored a power play goal in Saturday’s 2-1 win. “I like driving the net from the right side on your backhand.
