Inside Krajicek deal, Flyers win in Calgary

Desperate to add depth to their fragile blue line, the Flyers managed to land veteran defenseman Lukas Krajicek without giving up anything in return. Krajicek, a 6-3, 205-pounder from Prostejov, Czech Republic, became an unrestricted free agent after leaving the Norfolk Admirals last week, less than a month after the Tampa Bay Lightning sent him to their AHL affiliate. “I knew I didn’t want to stay and play in Norfolk for the rest of the season,” Krajicek said after his first practice with the Flyers in Calgary. “We were trying to make some kind of deal or trade. I had an offer to go to Europe.
