Carter to have screw inserted in left foot

The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that center Jeff Carter will undergo surgery on his left foot on Friday, Mar. 26 and is still expected to be out three to four weeks, according to club General Manager Paul Holmgren. “He will have a screw inserted to aide the healing process,” said Holmgren. The surgery will be performed by Dr. Steve Raikin at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Carter, 25, suffered a non-displaced fracture in his left foot as a result from a blocked shot during the Flyers-Thrashers game on Sunday, Mar. 21
