I was at first ready to come into this topic and rip Homer apart, but then I remembered a few key trades and I was ready to laud him, and then I remembered a few questionable ones and pretty much decided that he’d end up around a B- in this category as well. But that’s not where I ended up, so let’s have a look. I’ll go through trade by significant trade. The Big One (or so I thought) Peter Forsberg for Ryan Parent, Scottie Upshall, a 1st, and a 3rd This is going to be a constant theme during this analysis – it’s difficult not to take it too far. Like at this moment you could say all we have to show for this trade today is Dan Carcillo and the Pens 3rd round pick next year – trades from the past should have run-off, right?. But two weeks ago you could have said that the present day effect of this trade was Kimmo Timonen, Scott Hartnell, Dan Hamhuis, and Daniel Carcillo. It depends how far you want to take it.
